這本書是我人生中第一次翻譯科學讀物，也是第一次翻譯這麼大體量的專業文本。我覺得很神奇，我這麼一個在高中數學課上幾乎天天墊底，Abitur 也只拿了 3.0 的人，居然硬是在那個也沒有人工智慧助手的時期一點一點學習整本書，做完所有習題。當然，這也側面體現原作者寫得的確生動有趣。

很多心路歷程我已經想不起來，只記得翻完最後一章後感到悵然若失，一段奇趣冒險就這麼結束。無論如何，還是感激當時的編輯老師願意給格外年輕的我這個機會。

This was the first time in my life translating a science book, and also my first time tackling such a massive volume of professional text. It’s quite magical to think that someone like me, who almost always ranked at the bottom in high school math class and only scored a 3.0 in my Abitur, managed to stubbornly learn through the whole book bit by bit and finish all the exercises—back when there were no AI assistants either. Of course, this also goes to show how vividly and engagingly the original author writes.

I can't recall much of my mental journey, only that after finishing the final chapter, I felt a sense of emptiness, as if a bizarre adventure had just come to an end. Regardless, I am still grateful to the editors at the time for giving the exceptionally young me this opportunity.
